Questioning Faith for the first time…

11 10 2007

BibleI have now been to my first proper Cell group meeting. The group which is made up mostly of women (which proportionately is probably representative of the church) covered James 2. I knew I would enjoy going to a Cell group because it allows you to question the unquestionable. If you read Numbers, you are lead to believe that you must never ever question anything related to God, but although I mean no harm, questions should be asked to clear up your perception of an incident, surely?

A good example of this is when we were asked to describe a typical ‘poor’ person in Newquay. Straight away, including me, most of us thought about poverty and those who may not be able to afford the odd luxury in life. But this is not the required answer! The poor people in Newquay are the ones who do not belong to the NCC or for that matter any Christian church in Newquay. It just goes to show that you should not always read things at face value!
